Dreamweaver Day!

Today is a free theme for the Dream Team and for the Simon Says challenge...my favourite! I recently taught an intro class at Carousel Rubber Stamps in Dartmouth. The gals who attended enjoyed it so much that we've scheduled an intermediate and an advanced class as well! I LOVE seeing people excited about learning new techniques! We did three that were simply basic paste embossing, using ribbon to meet the Created by Hand challenge:

Then we did these, the first with Memories Mists on glossy cardstock, and the second with Smooch Inks on glossy cardstock. These are SO easy to do, and yield SUCH pretty results! Just spray the inks on the stencil, gently life the stencil (I use tweezers), lay it ink up on a piece of scrap paper, gently place glossy cardstock (glossy side down) over the inked stencil, and brayer. Using your tweezers again, gently peel the image off the stencil. Every image you do will be different! I'm playing along with Charisma Cards challenge (April showers/May flowers) with these irises:

For Mother's Day, for the Sisterhood challenge . I also used this clock from a wonderful Etsy shop as inspiration, for the Etsy inspired challenge # 136:

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today. I wish you a day spent doing whatever fills your heart!

Design Team Thursday at Impression Obsession!

My time for card making these days is just a tad restricted, as I live in chaos, getting renovations done to my home in preparation for selling this summer...I hope! (lol) Even FINDING my card supplies is a challenge! So I sure DO appreciate it when you come to visit, in spite of my infrequent posts these days.

This too shall pass, so I am told.

This birthday card uses the Impression Obsession Celebration Word Candles stamp right here, which was stamped with Top Boss Tinted Embossing Ink and thermal embossed with Top Boss Gold Embossing Powder. I added soem crystal stickles to the flames, hand stitched the outer circle, and embellished that with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen. LOVE how the Viva Pens make these perfectly dimensional precious little pearls every time!

I'm linking to these card parties! City Crafter...Happy Birthday; Creative Card Crew...spring, using vibrant, fresh colours; Papertake Weekly...truly dimensional; Fab 'n' Funky...spotty and dotty; Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger...this pic!

Thanks again for visiting today...I sure do appreciate it. I wish you a day filled with whatever makes your heart happy!

Encouragement

After a month away visiting family in Ottawa, I'm settling in at home again. The sun is shining, the weather is warming up, and life is GOOD!

Today the Impression Obsession designers are creating encouragement cards. I used one of the newly released clear sets (CL302 Listen), stamped simply with Versafine Black...LOVE this set! I paired it with an old favourite go-to background stamp designed by Leigh Hannan (F2051 Swirl), stamped and embossed with Top Boss Gold Embossing Powder. I added the little pearl dots with a Viva Pearl Pen.

Please take some time to see the beautiful things created by the other designers! Their links are on my sidebar. We'd love to have you join us...and you have a chance to win twenty five stamping dollars to spend at the Impression Obsession shop! Check right here for details.

The Wee Memories challenge this week is about colour...black with gold is one of my favourite combinations. Over at One Stop Crafts, the challenge is to use spots or dots. This is the bag I used as inspiration from the increasingly popular Etsy Inspired Challenge. The bag is from the XS Baggage shop...FABULOUS girlie things...go see! The Just for Fun challenge is circles...hmmm...wonder if my wee dots qualify. Over at Three Muses, they're looking for Victorian elegance. The Creative Cottage gals want to see some blank space. This is their very last challenge! SOB! City Crafter's theme this week is Cheer Up!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
